    Câu hỏi thường gặp

    Câu hỏi thường gặp

Open the site in Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari, then drag-and-drop your file onto the large drop area or click the "Open file" / "Choose file" button to select a file from disk. The built-in HTML5 player immediately shows a thumbnail and Play/Pause button, a volume slider and a speed control next to the timeline — click the triangle to start, use the speed dropdown to change playback, and the fullscreen icon (or press F) to expand. No signup is required and the file plays in your browser tab without downloading to a server.

The player accepts container formats .mp4, .mov, .webm, .mkv and common legacy files like .avi; actual playback depends on the codec inside the container. H.264 (AVC) in .mp4/.mov and VP8/VP9 or AV1 in .webm play in modern Chrome/Firefox/Edge; HEVC/H.265 in .mov or .mp4 may only play in Safari/macOS/iOS where the OS provides a decoder. If the browser lacks a codec you’ll get a black screen or "cannot play" error — see conversion suggestions in the troubleshooting FAQ.

There is no hard upload limit because the player runs client-side, but practical limits depend on browser and device memory: desktop Chrome/Firefox handle single files up to ~1–2 GB comfortably on machines with 8+ GB RAM; on phones you should aim for under ~200–500 MB to avoid tab crashes. Large 4K files will use more CPU/GPU and can stutter during scrubbing; reducing resolution or using a hardware-accelerated codec (H.264/VP9) improves smoothness. For extremely large archives, use a desktop app like VLC to preview first.

A failure usually means the container is fine but the codec inside isn’t supported by the browser (e.g., a proprietary codec in an .mkv). Fix by remuxing or transcoding: open the file in VLC (Media → Convert/Save) or HandBrake and choose MP4 container with Video Codec H.264 (x264) and Constant Quality RF ~20, or export a WebM with VP9 if you prefer open codecs. After conversion the resulting .mp4/.webm should play in the Online Video Player without additional steps.

Playback happens in your browser tab by default — the file is read from your disk into an HTML5 <video> element, so the site does not require uploading to a remote server for normal playback. That said, browser extensions, OS file permissions or using a remote URL instead of local file may involve network activity; if you paste a public URL the browser will fetch it from the network. There’s no account or background upload feature, and no file storage on the site.

On mobile Safari/Chrome you cannot always drag-and-drop; use the "Choose file" button or the share sheet to open a local file. iOS Safari has stricter memory limits and older devices will often fail on files above ~150–300 MB, whereas Android Chrome typically handles larger WebM/MP4 files but may not decode HEVC unless the device supports it. Fullscreen behavior also differs: iOS forces native fullscreen controls while Android keeps the browser UI visible; use smaller resolutions (720p) on phones for smoother playback.

The player shows embedded subtitle tracks and multiple audio tracks if the browser recognizes the tracks in the file container (for example, WebVTT or embedded MP4 text tracks and multiple audio streams in MKV). There is no separate UI to upload an external .srt file directly through the player; you should remux the subtitles into the container (HandBrake, mkvmerge) or use a player like VLC for on-the-fly external SRT loading. If embedded subtitles don’t appear, confirm the track exists with MediaInfo or by testing in VLC.

Use the speed control located near the Play/Pause button or inside the settings (gear) menu — available increments typically go from 0.25x up to 3x (common presets: 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.25, 1.5, 2, 3). Lower speeds are useful for transcribing or detailed review; higher speeds are fine for spoken content but may drop audio quality. Note that extreme speeds (below 0.5x or above 2x) can make audio artifacts more noticeable depending on the browser’s audio stretching implementation.

Modern browsers enforce autoplay policies that block videos with audio unless you interact first; you may see a muted preview or a small "Click to unmute" overlay. Click the play icon or press the spacebar to grant interaction, then use the volume slider to unmute. If audio is still missing, check the file’s audio codec — browsers expect AAC/Opus/MP3; files using uncommon codecs may need to be transcoded to AAC or Opus to restore sound.

The Online Video Player is free to use in-browser with no signup required and it does not add watermarks to your videos — you can open .mp4, .mov, .webm and .mkv files instantly. There are no hidden trial periods; the only limitations are browser/device capabilities described elsewhere (codecs, file size, memory). If you need batch processing, format conversions or permanent hosting you’ll want a different tool; this player is optimized for quick, one-off viewing in the browser.

Use the Online Video Player for quick previews and one-off playback without installing software — it plays directly in your browser and is ideal for checking files (mp4/mov/webm/mkv) or showing a clip. For stubborn codec issues, batch conversion, burning subtitles into a file or deep format support, use HandBrake (transcode to H.264 MP4, x264 RF 18–23 preset) or VLC (plays many exotic codecs, can stream/convert). The web player trades universal codec support and conversion tools for instant access and zero-install convenience.

Yes — WebM (.webm) is a primary target format: VP8 and VP9 inside WebM play in Chrome and Firefox, and newer AV1 WebM will play in recent Chrome builds and Firefox with AV1 support. VP9 gives better compression than VP8 at similar quality but requires more CPU to decode; AV1 improves compression further but is even heavier on CPU and not available on all devices yet. If you need widest compatibility for sharing, encode a fallback MP4 (H.264) in addition to WebM to cover older browsers.
