Knowing the exact current namaz timing for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha is part of daily life for over a billion Muslims worldwide, and getting the times right matters — even a few minutes off can mean praying before the actual waqt has started, which scholars unanimously consider invalid. Our prayer times tool calculates today's salah for any city on earth using astronomical algorithms backed by all the major fiqh-recognised calculation methods: University of Islamic Sciences Karachi, Umm al-Qura (Makkah), Egyptian General Authority of Survey, Muslim World League, Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), Institute of Geophysics University of Tehran, and Gulf Region — so the times you see match what your local mosque is actually following.
The astronomy is straightforward: the sun's apparent position at your exact latitude and longitude determines the start of every prayer, and our calculator uses high-precision NOAA solar equations accurate to within a few seconds. The differences between calculation methods come from how each one defines the twilight angle for Fajr and Isha — for example, MWL uses 18° for Fajr while Karachi uses 18° too but a different Isha angle, and Umm al-Qura uses a fixed 90-minute Isha interval after Maghrib during Ramadan. Asr has its own choice to make: the Standard (Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali) calculation uses a shadow ratio of 1:1, while the Hanafi school uses 2:1, which pushes Asr later by roughly 45 minutes to an hour depending on the season. The tool offers a clean toggle so Hanafi users in South Asia, Turkey and Central Asia get times that match their local masajid without having to mentally adjust. Sunrise (shuruq) and the next-prayer countdown are shown alongside the five faraidh so you also know when nafl prayers are forbidden and exactly how long you have until the next adhan.
