Booking an appointment at a photo studio for a passport picture takes time and money, especially when most of us already carry a high-resolution camera in our pocket. With a few simple steps, you can take a perfectly compliant passport photo at home and print it for the cost of a single sheet of photo paper.
Start by taking the photo against a plain, light-colored wall in even, natural daylight. Stand around two meters away from the wall to avoid shadows, look straight into the camera with a neutral expression, and have someone else take the picture from chest height. Avoid glasses, hats, and busy backgrounds — passport agencies reject photos for these reasons every day.
